STUDIO POLICY

The tuition announced for the current year is payable monthly and in advance. Students also have the option to sign up for six-months paid in advance, at reduced rates.  As a service for students, some materials may be procured by the studio.  The charges for these materials will be included in the monthly tuition statement and are payable with the tuition payment.  Every effort will be made to email invoices prior to the first of each month.  However, it is the responsibility of the student and / or parent to make sure that payments are made at the first lesson of each month.  Please be advised that no lesson will be taught that has not been paid for.  Payments are due prior to the first lesson of the month, no exceptions.  All accounts not paid in full by the 15th of every month will be assessed a $10 late fee.

LESSON ATTENDANCE

Students are expected to maintain a regular pattern of attendance regardless of preparation.  On occasion, I will offer a make-up day for the month, usually on the last Saturday of that month.  Make-ups are offered as a COURTESY ONLY and are not guaranteed. Please understand that I will not be able to accommodate all students who request a make-up every month. I give make-ups on my own time and am not compensated for that time. Your monthly tuition pays for your time slot and does not entitle you to a make-up. Open slots on that day will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis, so please notify me as soon as possible if you will be missing a lesson.  If the Saturday slots are full, I will not be offering another day.  No call / No shows will not be refunded.   Students who arrive late for their scheduled lesson time will have what time remains.  I reserve the right to cancel a make-up day at any time, for any reason.

RECITALS

One to two Studio Recitals will be scheduled during the year, and all students are expected to participate.  Specific time and place will be announced a month prior to the event.  Other events and performance opportunities may also be offered throughout the year.

There will be a small fee for students to be involved in recitals and other events. The fee will be $15 per family.  As all students are expected to participate in the recitals, all families will be charged the fee at the time I schedule the recital hall, approximately 6 months in advance of the recital.  The $15 fee will appear on your invoice along with information on the scheduled event.  All activity fees are non-refundable.  Each family will be charged $15, regardless of how many students are enrolled in piano.

MATERIALS NEEDED

All students are required to have the following materials prior to their first lesson:

·                     full-size spiral bound notebook for assignments and class notes

·                     metronome

·                     Pocket Music Dictionary, Hal Leonard Publishing

STUDENT RESPONSBILITY

Arrive at each lesson on time and with all materials.  Schedule daily practice, preferably at the same time each day, without distractions.  Come with a good attitude!
